Pedal 4 Possible - Mary Moninger
You probably already know me, and if you do, then you also probably have heard me talk about Craig Hospital and the incredible difference it has made in my life.
In 2005, my then-boyfriend, Justin Moninger dove into a shallow pool and broke his neck. After a couple of weeks in ICU, he was transferred to Craig Hospital. The doctors, nurses, techs, and volunteers at Craig helped Justin adjust to life in a wheelchair. They got him stronger, fitted him for a wheelchair, taught us all about the daunting medical issues that he will have to deal with for the rest of his life, but mostly, they helped him to back to living life. They took care of him medically, and they took care of of us all emotionally.
Justin has gone on to complete his Masters, go back to work full time, serve for 7 years on the Craig Hospital Board of Directors, and marry me. We will celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary this October.
Craig Hospital is a non-profit hospital and is world reknown for their work with Traumatic Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury. Please join me in riding, or consider a donation to this amazing hospital.
